4.Principally  of phytoplankton,pprovides most of the atmos pheric oxygen vital to respiration in plants and animals.

5. Animals in turn produce carbon dioxide necessary to plants.

6. Photosynthesis can therefore be considered the ultimate source of life for nearly all plants and animals providing the
     source of energy.
